🎉 Official Announcement: Ghana Store Plymouth Secures Stall at Plymouth Market
We are thrilled to share some exciting news: Ghana Store Plymouth has officially been allocated a trading stall at the iconic Plymouth Market!
On February 8, 2025, we received formal confirmation from Plymouth City Council that our application to operate from one of the market’s main stalls has been approved. This marks a major milestone in our journey to bring authentic, high-quality Ghanaian groceries and baked goods to the Southwest of England.

Plymouth Market is a historic and bustling hub for local businesses, food lovers, and cultural exchange. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a vibrant space for shoppers looking for something unique. For us, it's the perfect place to build community, share Ghanaian culture, and offer a taste of home to all who walk by.
🛒 What You Can Expect at Our Stall
Our market stall will carry a curated selection of authentic Ghanaian staples, including:
Yam, plantain, fufu powder, banku mix
Shito, palm oil, smoked fish, and dried seafood
Kontomire, tom brown, and kenkey
Fresh Ghanaian bread (butter bread, tea bread, and sugar bread)
African black soap and shea butter
We're also exploring in-stall tastings, small bakery partnerships, and same-day pick-up options.

The induction process is underway, and we’ll soon be fully set up to trade. This includes:
Public and product liability insurance
Staff registration
Compliance with market health & safety regulations
We’re working closely with the Plymouth Market Office to ensure that everything is in place for a smooth launch.
